Wow.I can't believe the price of this Lacie has not gone down since the prior year I purchased this item.I bought mainly because I edit in FCP and had little reliable and robust. It boots up without any problem and I cannot even hear that its on.On the other hand, was my first external hard drive a Seagate and it took forever to boot up and it was doing something wrong with the plug that hard drive would go in and out. With that nightmare I wanted my next hard drive to be reliable and this Lacie has proved it.I for one years and no problems. I would recommend this Lacie if your out for an external hard drive, get this one! .
