I have large hands and the battery grip give me better control of the Canon Rebel XTi. It also extends the amount of shooting I can do before needing new batteries.It inserts and 2, one takes regular AA batteries come. I have them both ready to use so a simple switch of inserts allows me to shoot all day long..
